SUSAN CUA FINE ARTS

Susan Cua paints because she loves it—and she loves it because it brings meaning, joy, and connection to her world. Her creative life is anchored in painting, music, and travel, all intertwined in a rhythm that defines her days. A Filipino-American based in Evanston, Illinois, she draws inspiration from her global journeys and the people she meets along the way—particularly her annual fall sojourns to Paris and other European cities, where architecture, light, and atmosphere permeate her visual language. Back home, in the supportive arts community of Evanston, she shifts focus between teaching classical piano and making art the centerpiece of her creative journey. Susan has over 800 paintings. Each painting reflects a place visited, a culture experienced, a moment of stillness found—and each is offered with the hope that the viewer might see the world through her eyes, fall in love with its richness, and feel transported for a moment beyond the everyday.
